SouthShore Regional Library Hillsborough County
2009 Volunteers of the Year
There are 26 libraries in Hillsborough County and the SouthShore Friends of the Library "are the best"....as announced by the Hillsborough County Charter Board on April 14, 2009.
Mimi and Tom Rose are the SS Friends board members responsible for volunteers at the book sale room and much of the credit for the award is due to their hard work.
Eloise Hurst, our Supervising Librarian at SouthShore, recently said, "Mimi has an enthusiasm for everything she undertakes. A large part of the success of the SouthShore Regional Library book store is due to Mimi's dedication to training, organizing and assisting her corp of volunteers"
The above picture was taken at the April 14, 2009 Hillsborough County Charter Friends Annual Meeting at the John Germany Library in Tampa. If you will remember the date, the weather was terrible! But, a good representation of the volunteers made the trip to Tampa for the 6:30 pm meeting.
Left to right on the first row are Pat Bean, Hillsborough County Administrator, Gladys Bromberger, Volunteer, Frances Hereford, SouthShore President, Marie Hamly, Marge Yarger and Linda Bowker, Volunteers. On the second row, Joan Shalleck, SouthShore board member, and Lorie Bokma, Chris Harkins, Roz Chruthis and Patty Brandt, Volunteers. On the third row, Rich Bromberg, Volunteer, Eloise Hurst, Supervising Librarian at SS, Jim Duffy, SS Vice President, and Joe Stines, HC Director of Libraries.
Thanks to every SS volunteer. They help make SouthShore a better place to live and learn. Click on "VOLUNTEERS" on the top menu of this page to learn more about SS volunteers.
