Opened in October of 2006, the 40,000 square foot SouthShore Regional Library offers a wide variety of materials including books, magazines, online data bases, music & DVDs for children, teens and adults. 

There are 37 public Internet access computers as well as wireless Internet service available throughout the library. Many programs for all ages are offered each month.

The library has a large community room as well as smaller meeting rooms of varying sizes available for community and non-profit groups.

The Genealogy Center offers computer workstations, print and online resources for genealogical research.

The John Crawford Art Education Studio, featuring the works of former librarian and watercolor artist John Crawford, offers free art instruction and appreciation activities for all ages.

The Children's Center, decorated in a Florida wildlife theme, offers the library's youngest visitors books, magazines, media and computers for fun and learning.

The Friends of the SouthShore Regional Library host a bookstore and vending cafe for the public.

The only way to reach the SouthShore Library by telephone, is to call  813.273.3652. This will get you to a recorded message in Tampa. The recording will give you quite a few choices. If you press "0" (zero),you will be routed to a real person in Tampa. If you ask to be connected to the SouthShore Regional Library, you will be connected to a real live person at SouthShore. At least that is what worked for me the last time I called the above telephone number! Jim Duffy
