Kids Art Cards

Tom and Mimi Rose have completed the "Kids Art Cards" project and the Art Cards are great!

They are on display and for sale at the library. The cards were created by children from several local Elementary Schools. The art was judged and donated to the Friends. M&M printing printed the cards....thanks to a great local company.  

Each card is imprinted with the student's name, teacher and elementary school. The Art Cards are exactly as the children painted then...not enhanced by computers and adults! 

They are for sale at the library....10 cards for $5.00. You will be proud of what our youngest library users have created! This project is a great examples of how SouthShore organizations can work together with HillsboroughCounty schools and our library, to make SouthShore a better place to live. Festival of Trees:

The Festival of Trees was a joint
project of the SouthShore Friends and the Ruskin Elementary Parent Teachers
Association. The organizations worked together to have 20 trees on display at the library. The trees were donated and decorated by local
businesses and classes at the Ruskin Elementary School. Each tree had a unique theme.

The public, PTA and Friends attended a "Family Fun Day on December 10th from 3 PM to 8 PM. All money raised will be used by the PTA for Ruskin Elementary School sponsored student educational trips, and by the Friends for child literacy programs at the library.

The twenty trees were sold via Silent Auction. The trees were very, very, professionally decorated. Winners took the trees to their homes or business. Call Frances Hereford at 642-9292 if you would like to help with this project in 2012.
