CHARTER MEMBERS: If you were a member of the SOuthShore Friends before YE2006, your name is in the Charter Member Book. This book is displayed permenantly at the library.
The Charter Book is also used to record "memorials", i.e., donations made to the Friends in the name of a "special person". Call John Smith, President, at 813-746-1825 for information on this way to honor a friends or family member.

Above: Sun City Center Sawdust Engineer Ray LaBlanc is installing new signage outside the Friends Book Store. The Sawdust Engineers have helped the Friends in many ways.
The Engineers designed, fabricated and installed the signage so that it "matched" other signage design used at the library entry.
The Sawdust Engineers also desgned and built the Store Book Drop and the custom fitted book shelves in the sales room...special thanks to Stan Juczak for the excellent custom made wood shelves he built and installed in 2011. The project was ling and complex. The results were outstanding.
The Friends are very grateful to the Sun City Center Sawdust Engineers!
Volunteer Coordinators:
Email Mimi & Tom Rose at for information on volunteering at the Friends Book Sale Room. The hard work of the Friends Volunteers is greatly appeciated.
Below is a photo of some of our Book Store volunteer members taken at the April 2009 General Meeting. Joe Stines, Director of Libraries for Hillsborough County (back row, second from left) and Jim Martin, President of the Hillsborough County Library Advisory Board (right) came to SouthShore to honor our "100 Plus Hour" volunteers. Each volunteer recieved a certificate signed by each County Commissionr and a Beals Gift Card. THANKS TO OUR VOLUNTEERS!!
The library staff also needs help shelving books in the library. There are many activities that you can become involved in. The important thing is......"Have Fun and Help the Library".
Mark Vietzke, Super Volunteer!!
Mark Vietzke is a part time SouthShore Library employee and also a Friend of the Library. Mark volunteered his personal time to make the great sign, shown below. Some of the work was done at the Sun City Center Sawdust Engineers’ facility. The "Engineers" have helped the library in many ways. The sign will be used to announce and highlight Art Programs. You will see it as you enter the library. Thanks Mark.
